CVs and Portfolio Website
CVs
Naturally, when it comes to preparing us for professional development and applying for jobs in the industry; one of the first major things we should know what to do is to create CVs, or better known as a Curriculum Vitae.
A Curriculum Vitae is a document that contains the highlights of your academic and professional history, these would be sent to employers to look through and see if you have the skills needed for the job you would be applying for or if you would be fit for the company as they could employee you for a different and smaller job like a runner for example.
So, when we were first given this task of creating our own CVs; I created two templates for a CV, one styled professionally (on the left) and one that more fits a creative artist theme that I would naturally theme after my portfolio website (on the right). Both of these created on the free art software; FireAlpaca.

However, after some feedback from my tutor; I realised my mistake that I should add my details onto it such as my awards and work experience for example. So I went back to these CVs and fixed them. I really liked how I they each turned out in the end, especially the artist portfolio since it really fits my personality while still appearing as somewhat professional from a small glance which is good since most CVs are looked at with a glance; but with the inclusion of a self portrait of myself in my style, would also make my CV stand out and memorable.

Portfolio Website

Once my CVs were completed, I went ahead and created the base work for my portfolio website that I will use in the future to showcase my work and skills in hope for working in the industry after university. This is meant to be an advertisement of myself for employers of animation studios or places in need of an artist.
Now, each different section of my website goes like this:
HOME - The basic home page, giving a small introduction to myself and what I wish to do in the industry; with a small gallery of my best work at the bottom of the page.
INFORMATION - This would feature my artist CV, more detailed explanations on my degree(s) and awards, and a button leading to a secret page showing the process of my Final Major Project.
RESUME - This page would feature all the work I have done, both from volunteer work and any work done within the animation industry no matter how small through a gallery of my work (granted I would have to follow the Non Disclosure Agreement policies to see if I would be allowed to).
PERSONAL PROJECTS - Since I have a lot of ideas for animated films, shows and shorts; I also decided to add a small page on my website dedicated to them; showing my preproduction work for any of my projects such as character designs, any animatics relating to them, original artwork and maybe even a few draft scripts. This in hope of interesting any animation studios of my work and contacting me to help bring them to life; but also showing off my work when I have a personal connection to it.
CONTACT - The basic contact page that features ways to contact me through things like email and phone.
Naturally, people might ask why I decided to use an artist interruption of myself instead of an actual photo of myself. The reason for that is because I do not feel comfortable showing my face online due to events in the past; therefore, I feel more comfortable with an animated mask. Plus, this would also help with proving how I would take NDA seriously by being secretive of other elements such as my real face.
